My Body and Mind

It is clear that I don’t know my body and mind, unlike I know the back of my hand. And by and large, my body and mind function autonomously, a testament to their incredible complexity and self-regulation. I barely know the part of my body that I can see and feel, which is my body’s outer layers of skin. As for my mind, I can think, feel, and perceive. However, I don’t know the inner workings of thoughts, feelings, and perceptions. This is truly perplexing.
