Reflection After Experiencing Arising and Passing Away

If a strong experience of arising and passing away becomes clear, be sure to reflect afterward.

All things change. They are impermanent. No matter how much we try to hold on to and rely on what is constantly changing, it is bound to pass away and therefore cannot truly satisfy.

What changes in this way is not something โ€œIโ€ am doing. These are simply phenomena arising and ceasing according to causes and conditions.

When causes and conditions are present, phenomena arise. When those conditions cease, the phenomena cease. It is simply this process repeating.

There is nothing within it that can truly be called an owner.

Thus, impermanence, unsatisfactoriness, and non-self.
